GETAWAY GLAMOUR

Looking hot on your next holiday just became easier with the latest designer offerings doing the rounds, says Sushmita Biswas

‘Tis the season to be stylish. But are you still looking at the haute holiday dressing ideas for your upcoming long break? From beach side fun to sightseeing, you need the right kind of clothes and matching accessories for that awesome holiday.

So what are the absolute wardrobe essentials you should carefully plan for your upcoming holiday? From chic separates to maxi-dresses to relaxed separates, we show you ways to pack the trendiest outfits for your next holiday.

Here’s a look at the haute holiday essentials this season:

FOR THE COOL AND CASUAL LOOK

Keep it cool and playful with knee-length dresses and pyjamas. Opt for fun sartorial vibe with easy separates and dresses. Take for instance Sonali Pamnani of The Meraki Project who has kept her line playful and bright with midi-dresses, wide legged jumpsuits and dresses with frilled hems in tussar, crushed silk and organic cotton. For some girlie glam, take fashion inspiration from Ritu Kumar’s youthful line consisting of ballerina inspired tutus paired with cut out tank tops and floral dresses and halter printed trapeze minis.

Style Tip: Keep it cool and fun with floral dresses suitable for day and eveningwear.

FOR A SHORT BREAK TO THE HILLS

Go asymmetric with silhouettes like draped pants and waistcoats if you are headed to the cooler climes. The Chola label of Sohaya Mishra has loads of asymmetric garments for lovers of this style. Experiment with kimono sleeved overcoats teamed with loose checked jumpsuits, asymmetric waistcoat over white shirt and fluid long asymmetric skirts.

Style tip: Keep your accessories minimal with asymmetric clothes. Accessorize with simple pieces for a classic look.

FOR BEACH FUN

A perfect beach number and loads of style are the prerequisites of beach vacation. Needless to say a sexy swimsuit is a must-have. But if you are headed to Goa or some tropical islands, a floral dress, flowy kaftan, jumpsuit and shorts are clothes you should always pack. Or how about trying wide legged pants teamed with a crop top? Slip into Love Gen’s party line of denim fringed maxis, slinky tank tops, jumpsuits and khaki trousers aimed at hip youngsters.

Style tip: Add some old world glamour into your beach attire with an oversize sun hat.

RELAXED VIBES

Forget about figure-hugging skinny bottoms. Relaxed pants are ruling this winter. Take fashion cues from Sonal Varma of Rara Avis who has relaxed loungewear for the party season. Varma has a line of relaxed pants like kimono style pant suits to loose-fitted pyjamas which you can wear from day to evening with ease. Work those bottoms with long dresses or structured long jackets. Carry a cross-body tote with it for all your essentials.

Style Tip: Pair the loose-fitted pants with jackets, shirts or even chic sheer blouses.
